Design Spotlight: Two-Tone Kitchen Cabinets

Updated: Aug 27

Today's BA Kitchen & Bath Design Spotlight is on two-tone cabinets--a tried and true way to instantly elevate your kitchen aesthetic and make a lasting impression. Whether you opt for a bold, colorful contrast or something more subtle and classic, incorporating two cabinet styles with varying colors, textures, or finishes can give a once monotonous kitchen an instant refresh. Browse through some of our past remodels for some design inspiration. You can also view our online cabinets gallery or visit our showroom at 1739 Canton Rd Marietta, GA for cabinets, sinks, vanities, full remodeling services, and more.

All photos feature remodels designed and completed by BA Kitchen & Bath Design with countertop supply, fabrication, and installation provided by our sister company next door BA Stone Surfaces. Have a project idea? Get started on an estimate.

Keeping it Classic with White & Dove

In this BA kitchen remodel, we incorporated a clean color palette with subtle, elegant differences in the cabinetry colors. The dual cabinets are both shaker style with white cabinetry on most of the surround and a slightly darker dove gray accent on the kitchen island and glass-door pantry. We also installed 12" stackers in both colors for added length and storage.

A Splash of Blue for Statement Pieces

Consider adding bolder color choices for showpiece features of your kitchen. Incorporate color in the cabinets of your kitchen island to create a central focus. Or add color to a large butler's pantry to make a lasting first impression as you transition into the dining space. We are especially fond of the contrast between white and navy blue cabinetry, as seen in the below BA remodels, but you can also opt for softer greens if you want to maintain a lighter color palette.

Dark Wood & Matching Accents

In this BA remodel, we paired tall, white cabinetry with chestnut brown cabinets on both the quartz waterfall kitchen island and the glass-door pantry. Brown and white creates a classic, natural contrast, plus the brown cabinetry ties perfectly together with the accents of the window trim and hood vent.
